Statewide Property Inventory

The Real Estate Services Division (RESD) maintains the Statewide Property Inventory (SPI) which is a centralized real estate management information system. This database consists of a comprehensive inventory of all leased facilities reported to the Department of General Services and all state proprietary land holdings except for the Department of Transportation (Caltrans) - Highway Operating Right of Way and Airspace.

Real Property:  Immovable property such as land, buildings (structures), improvements, appurtenances, and air space.

 

Fee Acreage:  An estate of ownership without limitation.

 

Leasehold Acreage:  Acreage leased for the State via a lease, permit, etc.

 

Estate:  The degree, quantity, nature and extent of a person's interest in real property.

 

Office Structures:  A building whose primary purpose is office space.

 

Other Structures:  All other structures except office, such as warehouse, laboratory, classroom, etc.

 

State Owned Structures may be located on a leasehold estate.
