Cost Engineering Section understands the importance of quality service that meets the customer's needs. Customers are encouraged to contact the persons listed below regarding current on-going services and the Asset Management Branch at (916) 376-1800 when requesting new service.
Services
The Cost Control Section provides cost and schedule information to RESD management, project managers, and customers to enable responsible individuals to make timely, mission critical, business decisions. These services include:
- Project Estimating and Budgeting for project construction cost, change order estimates, value engineering and estimates of project design and management fees.
- Project Scheduling including preparation and maintenance of branch wide master schedule, assisting project managers in preparation of project specific schedules, monitoring and tracking project progress, forecasting potential project delays and recommending possible options for corrective action.
- Cost Analysis, including maintaining, tracking and analysis of project cost data, preparing project status reports for project managers and customer agencies.
- Project Administration, including processing fund transfer documents, creation of work authorizations, and coordination with outside control agencies.
- Workload Authorization including logging and tracking of projects, adjusting work authorizations and coordinating workload modifications with customers.
